Mount Teide and Teide National Park, Tenerife

If you visit Tenerife, seeing Mount Teide is an absolute must. At 3,718 meters, it’s Spain’s highest peak, and the surrounding Teide National Park is like stepping onto another planet. Think volcanic craters, lava fields, and sweeping views that stretch across the Canary Islands.

Anaga Rural Park, Tenerife

For a completely different vibe, head to Anaga Rural Park, a magical green wonderland. The ancient laurel forests, misty hills, and dramatic cliffs make it feel like something out of a fairytale. There are countless hiking trails for all levels, each offering jaw-dropping views of the lush landscape. If you love nature and quiet escapes, this is your spot. Anaga was even my personal favorite in all of Tenerife, a true gem for nature lovers!

Los Gigantes Cliffs, Tenerife

The sheer size of the Los Gigantes cliffs will leave you speechless. Rising up to 600 meters straight out of the ocean, they’re an incredible sight. While you can admire them from the town of Los Gigantes, the best way to truly appreciate their majesty is from the water. A boat trip offers unbeatable views of these dramatic cliffs and a unique perspective you won’t forget.

Masca Village, Tenerife

Tucked away in a deep valley, Masca is one of Tenerife’s most picturesque villages. The drive there is an adventure in itself, with winding roads and spectacular views. Once you arrive, you’ll be captivated by the village’s charm and can enjoy some delicious local food. There’s also a well-known hiking trail from Masca to the beach, but we decided to skip it. It requires a permit, costs around 30 euros, and some say it feels a bit like a tourist trap. Still, the village alone is worth a visit for its beauty and unique atmosphere!

Garachico, Tenerife

Garachico is a charming historic town with cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and a fascinating volcanic past.  The town has a fascinating volcanic history—much of its original harbor was destroyed by a lava flow from the 1706 eruption of Teide, but what remains today is a picturesque blend of old and new.

Natural Swimming Pools, Tenerife

Speaking of swimming pools, Tenerife is full of natural volcanic pools where you can take a dip in crystal-clear waters surrounded by rugged landscapes. Some favorites are Charco de la Laja, Charco de Isla Cangrejo, and Piscinas de Bajamar. Each one offers a unique swimming experience, and they’re ideal for cooling off after exploring the island.
